After a full week of training camp in Georgia, today we’re officially flying out to Guatemala City! I can’t believe how fast this week has gone.
Camp felt like a crash course in missions, leadership, community, and learning to fully rely on the Lord, even when things aren’t exactly comfortable. (Container showers, and tiny food portions will humble you real quick 😂)
We trained a lot physically, mentally, and spiritually. From gospel teaching and team-building to deep worship nights and children’s ministry prep, every part of it was so intentional. And God showed up in big ways.
Something I’m so excited about!! I was asked to be a team leader for the trip! A few days into camp, someone shared with me that they felt God saying I’d be a leader and someone others lean on. 2 days later I was asked me to step into leadership! I’m so excited and trusting God to lead through me as I serve this team 😄
So far, my favorite part of training camp has been children’s ministry day! We practiced skits, sang fun songs, and walked through real-life scenarios we might encounter while serving kids. I felt so at home! I miss my nephew and the 2 girlies that I nanny so much, but I’m so excited to be surrounded by little ones again!! 1 week too long without any kiddos!!
Now we’re on our way to Guatemala! We’re currently going on hour 36 at the airport after a flight cancellation. But even in the chaos, God is moving!
Yesterday, a girl asked if I was heading to Guatemala for a “cleansing ceremony.” Yoga, breath-work, sound baths, all of that. And I was so happy she asked because it opened the door for me to share part of my story. I told her how I used to be deep in New Age spirituality and how the darkness of it consumed me then how Jesus stepped in and delivered me from all that pain and confusion. I shared about the freedom I’ve found in Him, and she was moved. She also said she wants to read my book once it’s finished! We exchanged Instagrams and will stay in touch 🥰 I love how God keeps using my testimony to connect with others and point them to Him.
I don’t know all that God’s going to do on this trip, but I know He’s already moving. The stretching, the refining, the unexpected peace! It’s all happening! And if this is just the beginning, I can’t wait to see what’s next 😄
Thank you for your prayers, your support, and for being a part of this journey. Please pray for a lot of joy for the team during this travel day!
